Oh, this is actually something I should have explained a little more. There’s a lot of resentment in the community toward tech-folk for raising rent astronomically — their higher salaries have driven up real estate prices and caused rampant gentrification of inner city neighborhoods. It’s also a part of the fire problem —I hear many fires are arson these days as building owners or potential developers set fire to buildings where they can’t get the renters to leave.
