I disagree that the world will be universalized to any one language — I think that as technology advances, we’ll have less reason to be bilingual — computers will be able to do the talking for us. As a result, while English could once get you ahead in a 3rd world country, that advantage would wear off and students would be encouraged to spend that time studying STEM.

Just my prediction. What do you think?
